“Who is he that will lend unto Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him and he will have a noble reward?”

Salient Lesson

Before giving out any hadiya (cash or items) to a Shaykh or render your services (Khidma), your intentions must be for Love and not any other intention whatsoever. What love couldn’t give, nothing else can give.

Many had given out huge sums of cash as Hadiya and others did khidma for many years but couldn’t harvest the fruits of their labor because of their ill intentions.

Mawlana Khatm-Awliya’Allah Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Muhammad Tijani رضي الله عنه said,

“Giving and taking gifts shouldn’t be save for Allah and by Allah; whoever gives nor takes for other reason but Allah will gain nothing except woe.”

For this reason, Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse رضي الله عنه always admonished his Murids by saying:

“And give out money as charity only for the sake of Allah.”
